Easter '23

Easter has come and gone. I hope you had a blessed one.
For most, Easter is primarily a family celebration with Easter egg hunts, chocolate Easter bunnies and colourful eggs. That is nice of course but not the main focus.
People often forget that for Christians, Easter is the oldest and highest festival in the church year. But what is it really all about? Easter is one of the central holidays, or Holy Days, of Christianity. It honors the Resurrection of Jesus three days after His death by crucification. For many Christian churches, Easter is the joyful conclusion to the Lenten season of devoted prayer, fasting and penitence.
So why do we celebrate Easter? The resurrection of Christ gives us Christians hope for eternal life. Thus, Easter is also called the festival of hope by believers. "Whoever knows Easter cannot despair," the theologian Dietrich Bonhoeffer once said in dark times.
I took time off to reflect what God has done and is doing for me, the trials and tribulations that he endured and the many miracles he blesses me with.
But no matter what your faith is I hope like me you had a peaceful time reflecting on who and what is important in your life.
REST IN POWER Negumbo ya Negumbo
Recently a good friend of mine who was more like a younger brother to me, Negumbo ya Negumbo sadly succumbed to cancer. I had known him for over 30 odd years, he passed on just before the Easter weekend and his birthday was on Easter Sunday.
He leaves behind his triplet children, his loving family and tons of friends.
As much as I mourn and feel sad, I felt an assurance in my heart from God that all is well with my friend. That was all God's timing to call him home on a special day.
Stay strong my people, and if you are going through some battle, remember you are not alone, God has your back.
