In March it was a year ago that my wife Leila and I moved from sunny Greece to small green Latvia.
What a year has been, I am still adjusting to the way of life here and we took/take every opportunity to explore this beautiful country with lots of nature and water.
I still have to get used to the fact that many folks here are not used to seeing black people on a daily basis and the constant staring can be irritating at times.
Latvia is also a nation of reserved people which in the beginning can be strange for some foreign visitors. Leila's family makes my stay here worthwhile and I made interesting friends like my neighbour Nils or Ojars and his fiancee.
I observed how the Covid 19 pandemic ravages Europe and witnessed how everything almost came to a standstill.
I worked from home for one year and now I still get used to being amongst Coworkers again.I had experienced one of the coldest winters in 30 years with the thermometer reaching -20 Degrees.
This year on the 7th.04.2021 we became parents to a beautiful baby girl Ondeya and I couldn't feel more fulfilled.
Life is indeed a journey and we all can only enjoy the ride.
I cease every moment and make the most of it.
I look forward to a post Covid 19 time and when borders reopen.
If you go through some troubled times, remember that they too shall pass.
Be strong and don't lose sight of the way forward.
One Love, Nessy
