I thank you, Mama, for giving me life in exchange for your own.
I remember touching my first snow in Germany back in ‘82 when our airplane landed a political refugee whose passport was stamped and branded Europe would be my home, but I was too young to understand it But over the years, my mind and my horizon expanded.
I was one of many orphans so the little love we had, we learned how to share Growing up was easy if I compare, my scars to the inner demons that were buried deep underneath my surface, inner demons that would come and disappear.
When Namibia gained her independence, I returned home to thunderous applause I was told, “Welcome back, the country is yours.” I tried to fit in, but my key couldn’t open their doors, Soon I started missing Europe, and I felt remorse The only way out was to become a rebel without a cause.
Life is a teacher. Nothing ever remains the same Travelling was my drug, and I felt at home in a plane Did I ever know I would one day give my daughter Tameka her name? Today I look back, and I am glad of who I became God ignited my fire, and he will never put out my flame.
This is the life I chose or rather the life that chose me A Never Ending Success Story that’s me, Nessy, It's nobody fault I made the decisions I made Some people call it life but I call it fate, I said goodbye to the games and the adrenaline rush, Now that I found the clarity, I live a different kind of buzz.
